TANTANGAN, South Cotabato-The Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII) recently organized an examination for the Young Filipino Farm Leaders Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ) Batch 2024.

The event marked an important milestone in the journey of aspiring young Filipino farmers who wish to participate in a specialized training program in Japan.

A total of 18 young farmers, both college and non-college graduates, participated in the examination. The examinees included 6 representatives from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and 12 from Region 12.

The examination was designed to assess the knowledge, skills, and passion of these young farmers, who aspire to contribute significantly to the agricultural landscape in the country and gain invaluable experience in Japan. Their dedication to farming and their potential to become future leaders in agriculture were key factors in their selection.

In a remarkable display of talent and determination, 16 out of the 18 young farmers successfully passed the examination. The successful examinees will now move on to the next phase of their journey - the farm validation stage.

During the farm validation stage, selected ATI staff, in collaboration with Provincial and Municipal 4-H Coordinators, will work closely with the applicants to evaluate their dedication to farming. This phase will focus on assessing their practical skills, commitment, and readiness to engage in the rigorous training program in Japan.

The ATI’s initiative to identify and nurture young agricultural leaders is part of its broader mission to support the growth of the agriculture sector in the Philippines and equip the youth with the knowledge and skills needed to lead the nation towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.
