TANTANGAN, South Cotabato – A five-day training on Radio Broadcasting for School On-the-Air Implementers in Region XII and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) commenced today, June 25, 2024, at the ATI Regional Training Center XII in San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato. The training is designed to enhance the broadcasting skills of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and representatives from various DA Attached Agencies and Nutriskwela Radio Stations.
Ms. Hannadi Guiamad-Pompong, ISS Chief, and Mr. John Lord Auman, Information Officer II, welcomed the thirty participants, providing an overview of the program and highlighting the significance of effective communication in agriculture education through radio.
Renowned journalist Mr. Joel Alingasa Ramirez, formerly the News Chief of ABS-CBN Northern Mindanao, led the opening session with a focus on broadcaster integrity and credibility. He emphasized the principles of responsible broadcasting, referencing the Broadcast Code of 2007, and shared his insights on the role of broadcasters in delivering truthful, impactful messages to their audience.
Participants from various towns in BARMM and Region XII, including Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Koronadal, and Kidapawan, will engage in this comprehensive training aimed at empowering local communities with educational radio programs that support agricultural growth and development.
