The Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII), in collaboration with the Organic Producers of Alabel Marketing Cooperative (OPAMCO), hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for the 30 Sow-Level Swine Multiplier (SMF) and Techno-Demo Project on November 13, 2024. Held in Barangay Dumulog, Alabel, Sarangani Province, the event marked a key milestone in the implementation of the DA-National Livestock Program’s INSPIRE initiative, which seeks to produce high-quality breeder stocks and support sow-weaner production to promote a sustainable hog industry in the region.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including ATI-RTC XII OIC Center Director Jessie V. Beldia, Ph.D., and Hon. Mayor Vic Pau M. Salarda, PMA, alongside OPAMCO officials and members. Dr. Amor R. Elvazo from the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian and Ms. Gesselle Jestupa from the Office of the Municipal Agriculture delivered messages of support, emphasizing the program's potential to strengthen local livelihoods and improve hog production.
Additional representatives, such as Engr. Sarah Pejana from ATI-ITCPH, Dr. Ethel Dumalao from BAI-VQS, and Ms. Shiela from SAAD-APCO SarGen, shared insights on the initiative’s objectives. Their collective support underscores the importance of partnerships in empowering local farming communities with the resources and expertise needed to advance sustainable agricultural practices.
