Marawi City, Lanao del Sur – The Ikram Agriculture Cooperative in Barangay Kormatan, Matampay, reached a new milestone with its official launch as a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) on January 14, 2025. This transformative event, supported by ATI-RTC XII, marked a significant step toward enhancing agricultural education and practices in the region.
The ceremony commenced with warm welcome remarks from Barangay Chairwoman Hon. Raihanisah P. Salic, setting a tone of optimism and collaboration. A highlight of the event was the awarding of the Certificate of Learning Site and financial support cheque to the LSA Cooperator, Ms. Sittie Aireen C. Lomangcolob. The honors were presented by Engr. Mokles P. Buisan, ATI HALAL Focal Person, on behalf of OIC-Center Director Dr. Jessie V. Beldia. In her acceptance speech, Ms. Lomangcolob expressed heartfelt gratitude and vowed her dedication to advancing the goals of the LSA program.
Messages of support were delivered by Ms. Cecilia Basser, representing the Provincial Agriculture Office of Lanao del Sur, on behalf of Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Rajiv N. Radia. The speeches underscored the collaborative efforts between government agencies, local leaders, and the cooperative in promoting agricultural innovation and sustainability in the community.
Engr. Jun Rey L. Samillano, LSA Focal Person, officially declared the Ikram Agriculture Cooperative Learning Site open, concluding the event with a motivational closing message. The ceremony also included the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement by the LSA Cooperator, LSA Focal Person, and an official witness, symbolizing the partnership's commitment to agricultural excellence.
The event’s success was further ensured by the efforts of facilitators, including Mercedita G. Aglibot, Jane G. Diacoma, and Anareystel P. Lape. This launch signifies a bright future for the cooperative and its community as it embarks on a journey of agricultural learning and empowerment.
