On September 11, 2024, participants in the Season-Long Training of Trainers (TOT) on Integrated Crop Management (ICM) for Corn conducted their sixth Agro-Ecosystem Analysis (AESA), marking a pivotal point in the training as the corn crop reached 53 days after planting (DAP) and entered the reproductive stage. This stage is vital for determining final yield, making it essential for trainers to sharpen their observational and analytical skills in managing the crop.

During the AESA, participants meticulously examined plant growth, assessed pest and disease levels, and evaluated overall field health to make informed management decisions that can optimize yield. By focusing on real-time conditions, the trainers gained hands-on experience in diagnosing and addressing common field challenges, solidifying their knowledge of corn agro-ecosystems.

The AESA also emphasized practical strategies for ecosystem-based crop management, preparing the trainers to impart these skills to local farmers. The experiential approach taken in the TOT program enhances participants' readiness to guide farmers in optimizing corn yields through timely, data-driven practices, contributing to sustainable agricultural productivity in their communities.
