The Training on Dairy Cattle Production and Management (Module 1, Batch 2) officially began on May 27, 2025, at the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII) in Brgy. San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato. This activity is conducted in collaboration with the National Dairy Authority (NDA)–Southern Mindanao and aims to enhance participants’ knowledge on the fundamentals of dairy cattle production and entrepreneurship.
Engr. Teofilo T. Jumawan Jr., Planning Officer II of ATI-RTC XII, welcomed the participants with an opening message that outlined the training’s objectives. He also shared updates on the coconut industry in Region XII, underlining its connection to broader agri-based development and the importance of integrating dairy as a viable livelihood diversification strategy.
Following the welcome session, Mr. Jesus Melchor P. Bertolpo, Development Management Officer II of NDA–Southern Mindanao, delivered a comprehensive overview of the dairy industry. He discussed the basics of dairy farming, current production challenges and opportunities, and essential practices to support successful dairy enterprises.
The first day concluded with participants motivated to pursue dairy farming with greater confidence and purpose, setting a productive tone for the rest of the training.
