In Region XII, trainers focused on the production of coconut products and by-products recently participated in hands-on demonstrations at the Agricultural Training Institute. On this occasion, Greg Arellaga, Senior Agriculturist at the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA)-Sultan Kudarat, served as the resource speaker, providing valuable insights into the processes of producing coconut sap (tuba) and coconut sugar. He highlighted the health benefits and nutritional value of these coconut-derived products.

The primary goal of the training was to offer participants practical experience in producing coconut sap and coconut sugar. Arellaga’s demonstration covered each step of the process, ensuring that attendees gained comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills.

Following the session on coconut sap, participants engaged in the production of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). They practiced various stages of the VCO production process, ultimately producing pure Virgin Coconut Oil. This activity not only reinforced their understanding of coconut product processing but also equipped them with practical skills applicable to their own operations.

Overall, the training provided valuable opportunities for participants to enhance their expertise in coconut product production, fostering skills that will contribute to their professional development and the local coconut industry.
