Tantangan, South Cotabato – The ATI-RTC XII, through its Information Services Section, successfully conducted the Training on Developing Effective Farmers Information and Technology Services Managers: Training on Basic FITS Center Operations, IEC Development, and Social Media Management for new FITS Kiosk Managers and Staff under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Program. The event took place from November 20-22, 2024.


The three-day training was attended by 30 FITS Kiosk Managers and Staff from Learning Sites for Agriculture, Cooperatives, and SUCs in Region XII and BARMM.


On the first day, OIC-Section Chief John Lord L. Auman delivered sessions on the Introduction to Basic FITS Center/Kiosk Operations, including discussions on the operational processes of FITS Centers, their role as agri-fishery information hubs, and the importance of data collection, analysis, and reporting in FITS Kiosks.


The second day featured Marnil B. Del Monte, Media Production Specialist II, who shared insights on IEC Strategies and Developing IEC Materials. Justin G. Aquino, Information Officer II from DA-RFO XII, conducted a session on Social Media Management, focusing on account creation, content development, and managing social media platforms.


Participants engaged in workshops where they created Facebook pages, developed social media content, and designed IEC materials.


Through this training, participants are now better equipped to manage FITS Kiosks and Centers effectively, produce engaging and informative IEC materials, and leverage social media platforms to disseminate agricultural information and connect with farming communities.
