Bukidnon Province hosted a weeklong Experiential Learning Activity from September 23 to 27, 2024, as part of the Season-Long Training of Trainers on Integrated Crop Management for Corn.
Agricultural professionals and trainers visited key agricultural sites to learn about innovative corn farming techniques. Among the stops were Central Mindanao University and the Northern Mindanao Agriculture Crop Livestock Research Complex, where participants engaged in research efforts focused on sustainable corn crop management.
A highlight of the tour was the visit to local cooperatives and companies, such as Anakciano Inc. and Lamsan Group of Companies, where participants observed the practical application of hybrid technology and modern processing techniques that have significantly improved the efficiency and profitability of corn farming in Bukidnon. At the Asian Hybrid Manufacturing Plant, they learned about advanced breeding technology to increase crop yields and enhance resilience to environmental challenges.
The group also visited the Mantibugao Agrarian Cooperative, Bliss Lingi-on Multipurpose Cooperative, and Iniego-Lastima Diversified Farm to explore sustainable and organic farming practices. The tour concluded with visits to Alomah's Place and Mushroom City, where participants gained insights into diversified farming as a complementary business model. These immersive experiences emphasized the importance of adopting innovative and sustainable practices to enhance corn productivity in the region.
