Thirty coconut farmers from various cooperatives across the Province of Maguindanao del Sur completed a 3-day training on native cattle production and management. The training was held from April 17-19, 2024, at Al-Rahman Farmers MPC Farm in Brgy. Manongkaling, Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur.

The event was graced by Dr. Modrika Masukat, Municipal MAFAR Officer of Mamasapano, who delivered an inspiring welcome message, setting the tone for the transformative learning experience ahead. Engr. Mokles P. Buisan, Training Specialist II and CFIDP BARMM Focal Person provided a comprehensive overview of the training objectives, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cattle farming practices for economic prosperity in the region.

Mr. Nasino G. Umbi Jr. from PCA Maguindanao served as the resource speaker during the training session. He shared invaluable insights on effective cattle farm management and production techniques, including topics such as the Economics of Beef Cattle, Feeds and Feeding, and Pasture Establishment and Development. His guidance and expertise proved very helpful and enriched the farmers' learning journey. As a result, they were equipped with practical skills that they could apply in their farming practices.

Moreover, OIC-Center Director Shirley L. Beldia graced the event with her presence, delivering an insightful message on the significance of continuous learning and active participation in agricultural development initiatives.

The highlight of the training was a field exposure trip, where participants visited Maido Farm, Zafakan Rajah Buayan, the Hybridization Site of PCA, and Dapantis Farmers Marketing Cooperative at Brgy. Dapantis. These experiences provided firsthand insights into best practices and innovative approaches in cattle farming, further enhancing the participants' understanding and appreciation of modern agricultural techniques.

During the closing program, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the training and apply their newfound knowledge to uplift their communities.

Meanwhile, Mr. Umbi Jr. concluded the program with a closing message, congratulating the farmers for their active participation and eagerness to embrace new technologies to improve their farms and communities.
