On July 26, 2024, the Agricultural Training Institute-RTC XII (ATI-RTC XII) celebrated the completion of its “From Field to Feast: Training on Fruit and Vegetable Processing” program, held at Brgy. San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato. Thirty dedicated fruit and vegetable growers from Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat, attended the three-day training, gaining vital skills to enhance their agricultural production and expand market opportunities.
The culmination program featured congratulatory remarks from Ms. Mercedita G. Aglibot, the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) and NUPAP Focal Person, who praised the participants’ dedication and potential. Acknowledging their commitment, Ms. Aglibot expressed confidence in the trainees' future success. Engr. Teofilo T. Jumawan Jr., Planning Officer II, also shared his support, encouraging participants to spread their newfound knowledge within their communities, reinforcing the training’s intent of empowering growers at no cost.
The program covered essential topics in fruit and vegetable processing, including sanitation, preservation methods, and value-added product development. Participants learned to produce shelf-stable and marketable products, equipping them to build sustainable and profitable agricultural ventures.
