The Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center XII (DA-ATI-RTC XII) recently organized a financial literacy seminar for coconut farmers in the provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi (BASULTA).
The seminar covered crucial topics such as basic financial literacy and farm plan budgeting.
Lilybeth Pingay, MAFAR Support Service Officer, and Albert S. Ylanan, PCA Tawi-Tawi Coconut Specialist, graced the event.
Ms Ma Aiko Buliag-Tula shared insights on financial management, emphasizing the importance of skills like budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debts for coconut farmers.
Also, Engr. Mokles P. Buisan highlighted the CFIDP Lending Program, focusing on improving financial and entrepreneurial capacities and facilitating access to Land Bank of the Philippines services.
The seminar aimed to empower farmers to make informed financial decisions, enhancing their financial well-being and ensuring the long-term sustainability of coconut farms in the BASULTA provinces.
