On August 30, 2024, the training on Inbred Rice Seed Production and Certification concluded at ATI-RTC XII. A total of 20 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) participated in the training, which featured hands-on activities such as Field Inspection and Rouging, Warehouse Inspection, Seed Sampling, Bagging, and Tagging. These activities were crucial in equipping participants with the necessary skills to uphold seed quality standards.
Key resource persons from the Bureau of Plant Industry- National Seed Quality Control Services (BPI- NSQCS), including Ms. Marjie Lastimoso, Ms. Shirley Balidiong, Mr. Jordan Soberano, and mR. Harold Mamalo, facilitated the sessions on seed production protocols and certification procedures.
The training concluded with a culmination program where Ms. Simona P. Dela Cruz, Training Specialist III, delivered the closing message, emphasizing the importance of their role in maintaining seed quality and supporting local agriculture.
