Tantangan, South Cotabato – May 9, 2025. The final day of the Enforcement Training on Legal Procedures of Meat for LGU Enforcement Officers from Region XII and BARMM wrapped up with a practical field activity and a meaningful closing program, marking the successful culmination of the 3-day training held at ATI-RTC XII, San Felipe, Tantangan.
As early as 4:30 AM, participants were assembled for their Enforcement Practicum at the Koronadal City Public Market and selected meat retail shops around the city. Prior to deployment, Dr. Jude N. Padasas provided a detailed briefing to equip the participants with guidelines for the actual inspection. The activity aimed to simulate real-life enforcement scenarios, allowing participants to apply their newly learned skills in the field.
After the practicum, the participants returned to ATI-RTC XII to present and discuss their inspection data. The NMIS team provided valuable feedback on their outputs, reinforcing practical learning and emphasizing areas for improvement.
In the afternoon, a closing program was held at the AVB Hall, where the top three participants from the Pre- and Post-Test assessments shared their impressions. They expressed appreciation to ATI-RTC XII and NMIS-RTOC XII for the opportunity and training, and suggested future topics for similar capacity-building activities. In response, Dr. Sittie Maleah M. Macog, Senior Meat Supervising Officer from NMIS Central Office, addressed their inputs with gratitude and assured continuous efforts to enhance the program and partnership with ATI.
Certificates of completion were awarded to all participants, with 10 CPD points granted to those who are licensed veterinarians.
Dr. Jessie V. Beldia, Ph.D., OIC-Center Director of ATI-RTC XII, delivered the closing message, commending the participants for their active engagement and urging them to apply their knowledge as responsible livestock enforcers in their respective LGUs. He also expressed his deep appreciation to the NMIS team for their continued collaboration.
The training was made possible through the facilitation of Mr. Errol Chris A. Laspiñas, Agriculturist I/Livestock Focal Person, together with Ms. Kissciel Arao-Arao, Alternate Livestock Focal Person, and supported by the on-the-job trainee from SKSU-ACCESS Campus.
