The first training of 2025 commenced on February 12, 2025, at the AID Hall of ATI-RTC XII, Tantangan, South Cotabato, highlighting the Coconut-Cacao Farming System as a sustainable approach to diversified agriculture.

Engr. Mokles P. Buisan, Training Specialist II and CFIDP Focal Person for BARMM, opened the event with a welcome message, emphasizing the significance of integrating cacao cultivation into coconut farming for improved productivity and income diversification.

Following his remarks, Mr. Normuhaymin B. Arsad, Technical Staff of CFIDP, acknowledged the participants and outlined their expectations for the training. He also provided an overview of the program and a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the coconut industry, setting the foundation for the discussions ahead.

In the afternoon session, Mr. Arnaldo Pacio, Science Research Specialist II of DA-RFO XII, conducted an in-depth lecture on cacao establishment and maintenance, covering essential topics such as cacao varieties, best agricultural practices, and common insect pests and diseases affecting cacao production.

The training marks a strong start for ATI-RTC XII’s 2025 initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to empowering farmers with innovative and sustainable farming techniques to enhance productivity and resilience in the region.
