PAGALUNGAN, Maguindanao – Thirty farmers participated in the second batch of the Farmer-Level Training on the Coconut-Coffee System under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) from May 14–16, 2025, held at the Municipal Hall of Pagalungan.

The training began with a warm and heartfelt welcome from Ms. Ruzna M. Macalay, Municipal Market Officer of MAFAR-Maguindanao, who emphasized the significance of the three-day capacity-building initiative and commended the participants for their commitment to learning. This was followed by a message of support from Mr. Muslimen A. Abdulrahman, Agriculturist II of the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA)-Maguindanao, who acknowledged the broader outreach goals aligned with the 50-year vision of the CFIDP.

Mr. Mokles P. Buisan, CFIDP BARMM Alternate Focal Person, delivered a comprehensive overview of the training's objectives, highlighting its role in advancing coconut-based coffee systems as a strategy to increase farmers' income, reduce poverty, and promote social equity in the region.

The sessions were led by Mr. Solaiman B. Kabasalan, Agriculturist I of MAFAR-Maguindanao, who tackled key agronomic concepts, including coffee varietal selection, proper planting techniques, optimal spacing, and harvesting practices to maximize productivity and profitability.

During the closing program, Mr. John Lord L. Auman, OIC-Chief of ATI-RTC XII’s Information Services Section, congratulated the participants and underscored their important role in promoting coconut-based enterprise development. He encouraged them to translate their knowledge into action to strengthen the value chain and boost local economies through sustainable agroforestry systems.
