Banisilan, Cotabato - On June 20, 2024, a Technical Briefing on Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) was held in Barangay Gastav, benefiting 20 members of the Banisilan Rubber Farmers ARB Cooperative. The event, organized to enhance the livelihood of smallholder farmers, was a collaboration between local agricultural agencies in Region XII.
Marvin F. Nadala, General Manager of the cooperative, opened the program with a warm acknowledgment of the participants and guests, setting the stage for an informative session focused on goat production. The briefing aimed to equip farmer-raisers with technical knowledge and hands-on strategies to improve their livestock operations.
Key speaker, Mr. David Jonathan Vecino, Regional Livestock Technical Staff, delivered an in-depth discussion on various aspects of goat production, including optimal goat breeds, artificial insemination techniques, and proper housing methods. His insights were tailored to empower small-scale farmers to enhance their livestock enterprises.
Additionally, ATI-RTC XII Technical Staff, Mr. Errol Antonio Laspiñas, provided valuable guidance on feeding management for goats, offering practical tips that could lead to increased productivity and profitability. The briefing served as a stepping stone for participants to build sustainable livestock businesses and boost their economic opportunities in the region.
