BARIRA, MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE-The Agricutural Training Institute- Regional Training Center XII (ATI—RTC XII) conducted the 3rd batch of the 3-day Farmer Level Training on Coconut-Coffee Farming System From May 14 to 16, 2025 held at the barangay Gadung, Barira, Maguindanao del Norte.
The training started with a warm welcome message from Mr. Tumaritib Tanggote to set the tone of the said activity. Following the initial welcome message, Mr. Rasul B. Piang, Agriculturist II of PCA-Maguindanao shared the benefits of being a registered NCFRS and delivered the objectives of the 50 years project under CFIDP program.
Moreover, Mr. Merzaq A. Ulama, Technical Staff of CFIDP BARMM, acknowledged the 30 participants from Darusalam High Valued Crops Farmers Cooperative. He encouraged them to learn, enjoy, and make friends throughout the duration of their training. He also presented the overview and objectives of the activity.
Mr. Abdulislam S. Belongan, Senior Science Research of MAFAR-Maguindanao and Mr. Nordin O. Wahab, Senior Agriculturist of MAFAR-Maguindanao served as Resource person focusing on intercropping. They covered essential topics such as the differences in coffee varieties, correct planting techniques, proper spacing for optimal growth, and profitable coffee harvesting practices.
During the closing program, Mr. Pangandaman Tanggote gave an inspiring closing message, praising the farmers for completing the 3-day activities with hardwork and showcasing interest in coffee production.
