MAIMBUNG, Sulu – On May 15, 2025, the fifth session of the Coco-Based Farm Business School (FBS) training for the second batch of farmers featured a crucial hands-on activity—a market survey at the Maimbung Public Market. This practical fieldwork gave participating farmers direct exposure to real-world market dynamics, enabling them to gather vital information on pricing, customer preferences, and demand for coconut-based products.

The activity was facilitated by resource persons Ms. Virginia P. Arreza, Ms. Radzma B. Amil, Ms. Fatima K. Abdulla, and Mr. Jaafar Salapuddin, in close coordination with Mr. Amlon J. Absari of PCA-Sulu. They guided the farmers in conducting interviews with market vendors, allowing them to understand the supply chain, competitor strategies, and consumer behavior.

Through this market-oriented exercise, farmers were equipped to clarify their farm visions and set actionable objectives, aligning their production with market needs. The activity emphasized the importance of market research in building viable farm enterprises, reinforcing the FBS goal of transforming farmers into agripreneurs. By applying these insights, participants are expected to make informed decisions that contribute to the long-term sustainability and profitability of their coconut-based farming ventures.
