40 Farming households in Brgy. Midpapan 1, Pigcawayan, Cotabato take part in a one day Digital Agriculture Course that is a component of the capstone project on smart agriculture technologies.
Participants are composed of one adult farmer and one youth. The activity served as a bridge in the technology gap of the aging farmer and instilling love for agriculture to the youth.
Prior to the start of the activity was a ceremonial turn-over of smartphones for the hands-on activities in the training that were provided by Smart Communications to ATI-RTC XII as a support in enhancing Filipino farmers access to advanced farming information technologies.
Modules from the Digital Farmers Program were discussed and participants were given the time to explore useful agriculture applications from seed selection, nutrient management, pest & disease management, and more.
The activity was conducted on September 21, 2022 with the partner Learning Site for Agriculture, GBS III Agro Farms, owner Mr. Gregorio B. Saljay III giving his all out support for the project.
