Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur – The ATI-RTC XII, through its National Halal Program spearheaded the Strategic Planning: Halal Consultation Meeting at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City, on February 27, 2025.
Notable attendees included representatives from DA-ATI-RTC XII, led by OIC-Assistant Center Director Hannadi S. Guiamad-Pompong, along with Training Specialist II Mokles P. Buisan and Technical Staff members Mr. Merzaq A. Ulama and Mr. Normuhaymin B. Arsad.
Also present during the activity were Mr. Abdulkadil Ango from DA-RFO XII, Mr. Abdulkadil Azis Y. Abdul Nasser from DA-ATI-RTC X, as well as Training Specialist II Mr. Jeric L. Cabatac, Dr. Omarbliss B. Dalam, and Mr. Norsaeb B. Lumandong from ATI-RTC XI. Representing ATI-RTC IX were Mr. Rey Beduya and Ms. Sittie Norjanna Pala, while DA-RFO IX was represented by Mr. Yasser N. Sarip.
The discussion focused on outlining plans for training and activities aimed at addressing halal-related concerns, particularly the widespread issue of fake halal labels that undermine consumer trust. Additionally, the meeting tackled the ongoing challenge of cross-contamination, which has raised doubts about whether halal and non-halal items are properly separated during production.
The meeting concluded with closing remarks from ATI XII Regional Halal Focal Person and OIC-Assistant Center Director Hannadi S. Guiamad-Pompong, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their collaborative efforts in ensuring the success of the event.
