Mlang, Cotabato –Thirty members of the Langkong Farmers and Livelihood Organization (LAFLO) and the Rural Improvement Club recently completed a three-day training program focused on edible landscaping.
The training, held in Brgy. Langkong from March 19-21, 2025, aimed to equip participants with essential skills in sustainable gardening and promote gender equality within their communities.
The program featured presentations from experts, including Ms. Simona P. Dela Cruz, who discussed Gender and Development, and Agricultural Technologists Ms. Jonna Mae Ducala and Mr. Jessie D. Lumbao, Jr., who provided instruction on vegetable gardening. Mr. Jim C. Raborar led sessions on the concepts, design, and planning of edible landscapes.
Participants also engaged in a benchmarking trip to Cresenta Integrated Farm and Apus Mini Farm in Kidapawan City, gaining practical insights into successful edible landscaping and vegetable farming practices.
The training sought to empower local farmers and rural organizations with knowledge for improved food production and community development.
