The Youth Scholarship Grant on Organic Farming is a 21-month internship program for the youth that aims to fully imbibe the "life of a farmer" and organic practices. It comprises a nine-month schooling and on-site training for the farm partners, and a one-year hands-on approach and implementation of the proposed organic enterprise - Infusing in them the heart and mind of a farmer.
Eligibility Criteria for Trainees
1. Natural born Filipino citizen Male or Female Ages 18 to 35 years old at the time of application;
2. Interested to enter the agriculture industry, specifically the practice of organic agriculture;
3. Willingness to undertake 21-month internship and hands-on practice contract;
4. Physically and Mentally Fit;
5. Have no overdue obligations from the DA or ATI at the time of application.
6. Has good community standing and/or good moral character certified by LGU.
Documentary Requirement
3. Birth Certificate (from PSA) and Clear scanned copy of any valid government issued ID.
4. Certification showing bona fide residency with good community standing in the area from the Barangay Chairman
5. Two (2) Letter of Recommendation from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers’ cooperative or association) of good community standing and has no proven derogatory record
6. Notarized Sworn Statement as proof of willingness and commitment to undertake organic agriculture-related activities/enterprise after the training
7. Medical certificate indicating “Fit to work” and no underlying health condition such as hypertension, heart problem, asthma, or history of psychological disorder
Other requirements:
8. Certificate of No Overdue Obligations from ATI (Form No. 8)
9. Training certificates on agriculture and non- agriculture courses certified true copy, if available
10. Certification from the last school attended on the latest educational level attained, if applicable
