Rice farmers in Midsayap, Cotabato, attended the Digital Farmers Program 103 (SATs Phase 2) held on August 16-18, 2023 at Alcor Farm in Brgy. Central Glad.
The program was designed to train farmers on the different Smart Agriculture Technologies, such as applications for different stages of rice production and drone technology. The program was led by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region XII and Smart Communications, Inc. to contribute to narrowing the digital skills gap and aim for overall digital inclusion in farming.
The training was made possible through the support of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist of Midsayap led by Acting Municipal Agriculturist Nora D. Henry, MMPA, and Rice Coordinator Rey Ygay.
The training was a success, with CGLAD Irrigator's Association participants gaining valuable knowledge on Smart Agriculture Technologies. With the help of this initiative, they are now #FarmSmart and equipped with the latest technology to improve their rice production. This will not only lead to higher yields but also contribute to the overall development of the agricultural sector in the region.
