The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII) welcomed the 3rd batch of Indian National Students (INS) of the Central Agriculture University (CAU) for a one week internship on livestock and poultry from September 17-23, 2023. The eight students are part of the ATI-International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ATI-ITCPH) internship program, which allows students to learn about the latest veterinary practices and technologies in the Philippines.
The students visited farms, government agencies, and educational institutions to learn about the region's best practices in livestock and poultry production. They also attended lectures and hands-on workshops on animal health and welfare, disease prevention and control, veterinary treatment and procedures, laboratory diagnostics, and public health.
The ATI-RTC XII is committed to providing training and technical assistance to farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector. The internship program for the students is one of the many ways that the ATI-RTC XII is helping to improve the productivity and sustainability of agriculture in the region.
The ATI-ITCPH internship program is a valuable opportunity for veterinary students from India to learn from some of the best veterinarians and technical experts in the Philippines and to gain hands-on experience in the livestock and poultry industry. The collaboration between the ATI-RTC XII and the ATI-ITCPH is a testament to the commitment of both institutions to promoting sustainable agriculture and strengthening the relationship between India and the Philippines.
