Davao City, Philippines - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has undertaken a proactive initiative to enhance its training design, methodologies and delivery strategies.

This is after a comprehensive three-day training program on "Advanced Training Design and Delivery Approach" was organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fΓΌr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Philippines, catering their public partners under the Cacao+ Project.

Amiel Tristan Gonzales, Senior Adviser of GIZ Cacao+ Project, extended a warm welcome to the participants and provided a comprehensive overview of the project's objectives.

Meanwhile, throughout the three-day course, the participants acquired insights into improving training design by emphasizing sufficiency, efficiency, usability, and doability while addressing strategies for managing challenging behaviors.

Ms. Shilpa Subramaniam, a Sustainable Behavior Change Expert and Co-founder of The Learning Gym in India, served as the resource person. She mentioned the necessity of incorporating interactive activities in training, de-emphasizing the lecture format, and highlighting the significance of effective debriefing.

On the final day of the training, each participant showcased their refined training designs through teaching demonstrations, followed by the issuance of certificates of participation.

A total of fourteen (14) public partners participated in this event, with six hailing from various divisions and Regional Training Centers (RTCs) of ATI, to wit: Mr. Karl Louise Salibio of ATI Information Services Division, Ms Therese Aurosa Cosico of ATI Career Development and Management Division, Mr. John Vianney Ojerio from ATI Central Visayas, Ms Olivia Gatus from ATI Davao , Mr. John Lord Auman from ATI SOCCSKSARGEN and Ms Mary Grace Salve from ATI Caraga.

Representatives from the Bureau of Plant Industry, DA-RFO XI HVCD Program, as well as Provincial Agriculture Offices of Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental, also actively engaged in this training.

This training took place at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City from October 24 to 26, 2023.
