The first batch of the Climate Resilient Agriculture for Livestock: Training on Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS) in Region XII held on October 9-11, 2023, at Belo Hall, ATI-RTC XII, Brgy. San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato.
During the opening program, Center Dir. Abdul Daya-an emphasized the importance of the Livestock sector, with the support of provincial and local government units, and acknowledged the presence of attendees.
Resource persons Dr. Daniel Ventura, Jr., and Dr. Lourdes Socorro shared their expertise on the technical standards of livestock emergency guidelines. Specifically in provisions on veterinary support, feed and water supplies, shelter and settlement, and destocking and restocking in livestock intervention as a livelihood.
Training activities included engaging in group discussions to know the standard of mitigation, preparedness, and support during natural disasters, guided by the Participatory Response Identification Matrix (PRIM).
The training was made possible through the Livestock Program headed by Center Director Abdul I. Daya-an and Technical Staff Errol Chris A. Laspiñas.
