TANTANGAN, South Cotabato- The Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII) and the Philippine Coconut Authority Region XII (PCA-Region XII) recently convened in a virtual meeting. The gathering aimed to devise strategic communications initiatives for the year 2024, with a primary focus on empowering coconut farmers in the region.

One of the pivotal agendas of the meeting was the identification of priority provinces and municipalities for the implementation of the Masaganang Cocobuhayan: Radyo Eskwela sa Pagniniyugan (School On-the-Air on Coconut Production Year 2). This initiative seeks to provide comprehensive education and support to farmers, covering essential topics such as coconut production and management, quality copra production, coconut products and by-products, and the entrepreneurial aspects of coconut farming.

Furthermore, discussions revolved around the CFIDP Information Caravan and the inaugural CocoAsenso Techno Forum, both aimed at disseminating valuable information and fostering innovation within the coconut industry.

In her message, OIC-Center Director of ATI-RTC XII Shirley L. Beldia extended her heartfelt gratitude to PCA XII for their invaluable assistance in achieving the targets set forth by the CFIDP. She also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in realizing the program's objectives and underscored the shared commitment to the welfare of coconut farmers.

On the other hand, Ms. Emily Lorion, Regional Manager of PCA Region XII, expressed appreciation for the fruitful partnership between the two agencies. She highlighted the significance of synergy in driving sustainable development and assured continued support for initiatives aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of coconut farmers in the region.

Among the attendees were Agriculturist II and CFIDP Focal Lordette Estaño, ISS Chief Hannadi Guiamad-Pompong, Information Officer II John Lord Auman, Media Production Specialist II Marnil del Monte, and Technical Staff Jovellena B. Simbulan.

The collaborative efforts between ATI-RTC XII and PCA-Region XII serve as a testament to the dedication towards empowering coconut farmers and fostering sustainable agricultural practices in the region. With ongoing initiatives and partnerships, the prospects for a thriving coconut industry are brighter than ever.
