Twenty-five Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) successfully completed a five-day Training of Trainers (TOT) on Native Chicken Production and Management. The training took place from April 22-26, 2024, at ATI-STC XII, located within the USM compound in Kabacan, Cotabato.
The program opened with a heartfelt welcome from Ms. Shirley L. Beldia, ATI-RTC XII OIC-Center Director, who expressed her enthusiasm for the participants' commitment to enhancing their knowledge and skills in native chicken production.
Mr. Oliver L. Loraña, owner of Happy Chicken Farm and a renowned chicken specialist, shared his extensive experiences and expertise in native chicken production and management. His insights provided valuable practical knowledge to the AEWs, setting a strong foundation for the training.
This training, under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), was facilitated by Training Specialist II and CFIDP Focal Person, Engr. Mokles P. Buisan. He was supported by Technical Staff members Mr. Mubarak M.H. Salik and Normuhaymin B. Arsad, Admin Support Staff Ms. Kristelle Ann L. Flotibles, and intern Ms. Juvy Lea C. Po.
The comprehensive program aimed to equip AEWs with the necessary skills to enhance native chicken production practices, ultimately benefiting farmers and communities in BARMM.
