On May 9, 2024, OIC Center Director Shirley L. Beldia of ATI-RTC XII paid a courtesy visit to Governor Hon. Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu of Maguindanao del Sur. The visit aimed to discuss current and future interventions in agricultural and fishery extension within the province. Engr. Jedani Ulangkaya, the Provincial Agriculturist, and the ATI-RTC XII Information Services Section team were also present during the meeting.

The discussion centered around exploring potential collaborations to enhance agricultural practices and fishery management in the region. Key topics included the establishment of FITS (Farmer’s Information and Technology Services) Centers across the province, which are intended to improve local access to agricultural resources and support.

Additionally, the meeting addressed training opportunities related to Water Hyacinth processing, which could offer sustainable solutions for managing this aquatic plant, and production training for various commodities. The goal of these interventions is to bolster local agricultural practices and provide the community with valuable skills and knowledge.

The visit underscored the commitment of ATI-RTC XII and the local government to work together in advancing agricultural and fishery development in Maguindanao del Sur, fostering partnerships that will benefit the province’s farming and fishing sectors.
