ATI—RTC XII successfully conducted the second batch of the 3-day Training on Native Goat Production and Management from May 20-22, 2024, in Barangay Sugadol, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao del Sur. The training was part of the Coconut Farmers Industry and Development Program (CFIDP) aimed at enhancing goat-raising practices within the region.

Engr. Mokles P. Buisan, CFIDP Focal Person, provided an overview of the training and the current status of CFIDP. He highlighted the program's goals and its significance in improving local goat farming practices. The training sessions were designed to equip participants with advanced techniques and management skills for better goat production.

The opening program was led by Mr. Taharudin V. Ampatuan of TJJAMMOMDAD, who welcomed the 38 participants and expressed gratitude to the attendees, including Abinor Daton Impao of MAFAR-Maguindanao, and Nasino G. Umbi Jr and Sandatun Z. Siang of PCA-Maguindanao. Their collaborative efforts were crucial to the training's success.

Resource persons Mr. Nasino G. Umbi and Mr. Sandatun Z. Siang shared their expertise on goat production and management, providing valuable insights and practical knowledge to the participants. The training concluded with Mr. Siang commending the farmers for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the three-day program.

This initiative, led by OIC—Center Director Shirley L. Beldia and supported by the CFIDP BARMM program through Engr. Mokles P. Buisan, was facilitated by technical staff Mubarak M.H. Salic and administrative support staff Merzaq A. Ulama. The training aims to empower local farmers with the skills and knowledge necessary for advancing their agricultural practices and enhancing productivity in the region.
