On June 11, 2024, the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office XII (DA-RFO XII), in collaboration with the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XII (ATI RTC XII), conducted the second batch of the Technical Briefing on Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED). The event took place at Purok Santa Rita, Paridu, Glan, Sarangani Province, and was attended by members of the Muslim Christian Farmers and Fisherfolks Cooperative. This initiative aimed to enhance the cooperative members' knowledge of livestock production, particularly in the area of layer chicken farming.
The program commenced with an acknowledgment from Dr. Vernie Rino L. Asperga, the Municipal Veterinarian of Glan, who recognized the importance of this project in uplifting the livelihoods of local farmers and fisherfolks. Mr. Crisantofil Aquino, the Vice Chairman of the association, welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude to the DA-RFO XII and ATI RTC XII for their continued support. The briefing focused on essential aspects of layer chicken farming, a project requested by the cooperative to boost their economic opportunities.
Mr. David Jonathan Vecino, a representative from DA-RFO XII, along with Mr. Errol Antonio Laspinas, Technical Staff, led an interactive learning session on raising and properly handling layer chickens. The session covered topics such as farm management, biosecurity measures, and feeding practices.
