Thirty coconut farmers from various cooperatives and associations have completed the 3-day Farmer-Level Training on Native Chicken Production and Management (Batch 2). The training, held from June 5-7, 2024, at the Municipal Hall of Parang, Maguindanao Del Norte, aimed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in native chicken production.


Ms. Parida Ibrahim, representing LGU-Parang, extended a warm welcome to the participants at the onset of the training. Engr. Mokles P. Buisan shared the training objectives and provided an overview of the program.
Agriculturist II Rasul A. Piang of PCA-Maguindanao delved into the current situation of the Coconut Farmers Industry and Development Program (CFIDP), offering valuable insights to the participants.


Mr. Saban B. Belongan, Chief of Livestock Program at MAFAR-Maguindanao, shared expertise on native chicken enterprise, including anatomy, physiology, breeds, and breeding. Additionally, Mr. Norhid Wahad, Provincial Halal Coordinator, discussed Halal slaughtering and packaging practices.
Moreover, Agriculturist I Solaiman Kabasalan of MAFAR-Maguindanao covered topics such as pasture development, fodder crop production, feeds formulation, feeding management, common emerging diseases, and farm management.


Participants had the opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world setting through field exposure at Dulangi Agri Cooperative, owned by Muamar P. Dimpang, where they demonstrated their farming practices. 
The training concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants. Their feedback highlighted the comprehensive coverage of essential topics.
