Kabacan, Cotabato—The Agricultural Training Institute-Satellite Training Center at the University of Southern Mindanao welcomed participants on July 29, 2024, for the first day of Batch 2 in the Dairy Animal Herd and Health Management Training. This training aims to empower coconut farmers under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Program (CFIDP) by providing essential skills in dairy herd management.

Ms. Eljean B. Villasista, Technical Staff from ATI-RTC XII, opened the event by acknowledging participants and guests, setting a collaborative tone for the session. Mr. Normuhaymin B. Arsad, also a Technical Staff member, provided an insightful overview of CFIDP and its integration with dairy farming, highlighting opportunities for coconut farmers to diversify their income through dairy production.

The training’s core session, led by Mr. John Rey M. Dayo, Project Development Officer from the National Dairy Authority - North Cotabato, focused on practical strategies for cow and calf rearing management. Mr. Dayo shared actionable tips on maintaining herd health and optimizing dairy output, equipping participants with valuable knowledge for sustaining and improving dairy practices within their coconut farms.
