Successful training program boosts rice production and farm mechanization

In collaboration and dedication, a comprehensive Training of Trainers on the Production of High-Quality Inbred Rice and Seeds and Farm Mechanization has been successfully conducted on March 4-15, 2024 at ATI-RTC 02, Malasin, San Mateo, Isabela.

The 30 Farmers Field School (FSS) facilitators from various farm schools across Region 2, underwent intensive 12-day training spearheaded by project officers Mr. Jhimcelle Salvador and Mr. Jei-ar Limos along with a dedicated team.

The training aimed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge and to enhance rice production and farm mechanization effort focused on practical techniques and the application of the PalayCheck System, emphasizing eight management areas crucial for effective rice production.

The training provided participants with hands-on experience and valuable insights into modern farming practices. Meanwhile, special appreciation was extended to Mr. Francis Nitura for graciously allowing his farm to be utilized as a learning venue and providing access to rice machineries, which enhanced the practical learning experience for all the participants.

Dr. Claris Marayag-Alaska, OIC-Center Director, expressed gratitude to everyone involved and highlighted the importance of cooperation in advancing agricultural practices. She emphasized the potential of the newly acquired expertise to contribute significantly to rice production in the region and beyond.

The participants' acquired knowledge are expected to lead to tangible improvements in rice production and farm mechanization endeavors.
