The 2024 ATI Luzon Cluster A Sports Festival was a highly anticipated event for the four ATI Regional Training Centers composed of ATI-Cordillera Administrative Region, ATI-RTC Ilocos Region, ATI-RTC Cagayan Valley, and ATI-RTC Central Luzon.
The second Sporstfest of Luzon Cluster A was hosted by the ATI-RTC 02 at San Mateo, Isabela on July 4-6, 2024. The said sportsfest was a time for the staff of the agency to take pose of their regular work for the celebration of the successful first semester of the FY 2024, and an opportunity to have acquaintances among staff of the cluster.
The event showcased the talents and skills of the ATI staff, as well as teamwork and camaraderie. The games were held at the ATI-RTC 02, Barangay Malasin Elementary School, San Mateo, Isabela, and the main events and programs were conducted at the New Community Center (NCC).
The parade of colors was started from the ATI-RTC 02 grounds to NCC San Mateo where the participants were able to display their banners and shout their yells while marching with the Drum and Lyre of the Eveland Christian College, and Samiweng Dance Troupe of San Mateo entertained the participants afterwards.
The presence of the four center directors during the sports festival was a testament to their support for the event and its participants. They actively engaged with the delegates, offering guidance, encouragement, and valuable insights throughout the festival. The OIC-Center Director, Dr. Jayvee Bryan G. Carillo of Region 1, Dr. Joey A. Belarmino, Center Director of ATI Central Luzon, Dr. Charlie Chanfing Sagudan, Center Director of CAR, and Dr. Claris Marayag-Alaska of ATI-RTC 02 were all present during the opening program and led the momentous ceremonial raising of the flags.
Center Directors and OICs presented their teams. The oath of sportsmanship was led by Mr. Jhimcelle Salvador, Chief of the CDMSS, and the lighting of torch was led by Alen Olat of the ATI-RTC 02 which signaled the start of the 3-day event.
The Local Government Unit of San Mateo through the leadership of the supportive municipal mayor, Atty. Gregorio A. Pua, Jr., represented by Municipal Administration thanked the group for choosing San Mateo as the venue for the 2024 Luzon CLuster A Sportsfest. “This kind of activity is very good for your staff and I would like to say that the LGU is full support with this kind of activity,” Municipal Administrator, Noel P. Seriño, said.
After the opening program, various sports activities conducted, including the games of friendship and camaraderie such as cheer dance competition, men and women’s basketball, men and women’s volleyball, badminton singles and mixed-doubles, table tennis singles and mixed-doubles, chess male and female category, scrabble male and female category, and the highlights—the search for Mr. and Ms. ATI Luzon Cluster A. The participants were all active and energetic all throughout the sportsfest.
The ATI-RTC 02 also bagged numerous awards on this year’s sportsfest such as, Table Tennis Singles Male Category - Champion, Table Tennis Mixed Doubles - Champion, Badminton Singles Female Category - Champion, and Women’s Basketball - Champion. Also, Scrabble Singles Male and Female Categories - 1st Runner Up, and Cheerdance - 1st Runner Up. The Table Tennis Female Category - 2nd Runner Up, Chess Singles male and female - 2nd Runner Up, Men and Women’s Volleyball - 2nd Runner Up, Men’s Basketball - 2nd Runner Up, and Badminton Singles Male Category - 3rd Runner Up. Meanwhile, the candidates of the Dos Fighters Cupido C. Sabatin, Jr. and Geraldine Baligat as Mr. ATI Luzon Cluster A 2nd Runner Up, and Ms. ATI Luzon Cluster A 1st Runner Up, respectively.
In the end, the ATI-RTC-CAR Agents made it to the top as the 2024 Luzon Cluster A Sportsfest Overall Champion, followed by Team Dos Fighters as First Runner Up, Fierce Raptors as Second Runner Up, and Quali3 Defenders as Third Runner Up.
Indeed, the 2024 Luzon Cluster A Sports Festival was a resounding success, bringing together people from different regions to celebrate their shared interests and compete in a variety of exciting activities. It was an unforgettable experience to all staff, and it set the stage for future talents, and sports festivals of Luzon Cluster A to come.
