In celebration of High Value Crop Week, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) successfully conducted a one-day briefing on Seedling Propagation and Vegetable Gardening on April 21, 2025, at Gamu Agri-Fishery School in Linglingay, Gamu, Isabela. The event was held under the theme “Pagkain Sapat, Masustansya Dapat”, emphasizing the importance of food security and proper nutrition.

Key attendees included Ms. Lailanie A. Nicolas, Secondary School Principal I of Gamu Agri-Fishery School; Dr. Maurieann M. Turingan, Senior Agriculturist of ATI-RTC 02; along with faculty and non-teaching personnel of the school. Mr. Jerome B. Angel, Vegetable Specialist from ATI-RTC 02, served as the resource speaker, sharing his expertise on effective seedling propagation techniques and sustainable vegetable gardening practices.

The briefing gathered educators and staff who were eager to enhance their knowledge in growing high-value crops, starting from proper seedling care to backyard gardening strategies. The initiative aimed to empower participants with practical skills to support food production at the household and community levels, particularly in rural areas.

As part of the post-training support, the school received gardening starter kits which included essential tools such as a shovel, digging bar, bolo, garden hoe, sprinkler, vegetable seeds, and long-sleeve shirts. This support further strengthens the school’s ongoing commitment to sustainable agriculture.

This meaningful activity not only enriched participants' skills but also reinforced the importance of community involvement in promoting nutritional well-being and agricultural sustainability. It stands as a testament to the shared goal of building a healthier, food-secure future through education and hands-on training.
