The Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) conducted the first batch of training on Fertile Minds, Flourishing Enterprise: Farm Business School Training for LSA Cooperator at the ATI-RTC 02, ISU Compound, Garita, Cabagan, Isabela. The training aimed to capacitate LSA Cooperators with the knowledge, skills, and attitude on the fundamental management of farm businesses or enterprises.

Twenty-one participants from the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan participated in the training on June 24-26, 2024. The trainees joined discussions, group activities and workshops to ensure effective knowledge acquisition, and promote cooperation and knowledge exchange between participants and resource speakers.

Catherine A. Oandasan, farm school trainer/facilitator of Grandeza Integrated Farm School, Inc., Mabuttal East, Ballesteros, Cagayan, expressed her gratitude for being part of the training and shared her significant learning experience. She stated that the training helped her grow her knowledge in business and entrepreneurship, and provided her with ideas on how to start and grow her enterprise. Oandasan said, “Thankful and grateful ako dahil napasama ako sa training na ito. Malaking bagay ang aking natutunan para sa paglago ng aking kaalaman sa pagne-negosyo at sa pagpapalago sa aking munting negosyo at maging isang entrepreneur sa larangan ng agrikultura. Nabigyan ako ng ideya kung paano magsimula at magpalago ng enterprise. Bilang maliit na magsasaka, aking natutunan na pwede tayong lumago kung tutok tayo sa ating vision at goal na siyang isang gabay sa pagpapalawak sa ating bukirin at bilang channel sa mga kapwa magsasaka sa larangan ng pagne-negosyo,” she said.

The training employed an array of activities that encouraged each participant to actively engage in the learning process, enhancing their understanding of the different fundamental management of farm business or enterprise, as well as the concepts and principles of farm business school. Also, the participants enhanced their skills in developing farm business plan, farm record keeping and establishing markets for their products.
