The Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) conducted the second batch of Training on Fertile Minds, Flourishing Enterprise: Farm Business School Training for Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) Cooperators at the ATI-RTC 02, Malasin, San Mateo, Isabela. The training aimed to capacitate LSA Cooperators with the knowledge, skills, and attitude on the fundamental management of farm enterprises and Farm Business School.

Twenty-two participants from the provinces of Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino participated in the training on July 17-19, 2024. The trainees joined discussions, group activities and workshops to ensure effective knowledge acquisition, and promote cooperation and knowledge exchange between participants and resource speakers.

The training increased participants’ understanding of fundamental farm business management, as well as the concepts and principles of Farm Business School, and enhanced skills in creating farm business plans, maintaining farm records, and establishing markets for their farm enterprises.

Catherine C. Cardenas, LSA Cooperator of Maran Skills Training and Assessment Center, Inc. in Paniki, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, thanked the project officers of the training and she is looking forward for training for their professional growth. “Indeed, it was a very successful training since the facilitators are very fluent and gave all the necessary information about their topics, this will help us as a Learning Site for Agriculture Cooperators and Managers in improving our records in financial status and our different enterprises as well and become financial literate… I am looking forward for training or seminar for our professional growth,” she said.

Participants also conducted a market survey at Santiago City Public Market to understand the flow of goods and services from producers to consumers, including retailers, wholesalers, and transporters. This approach promoted cooperation and facilitated knowledge exchange between participants and resource speakers, maximizing the learning experience.
