The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) awarded 66 newly appointed Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) of Region 2. These individuals, recognized for their knowledge and skills, have embraced the responsibility of enhancing productivity and promoting sustainable agriculture in their respective communities.

ATI-RTC 02 OIC Center Director Dr. Claris Marayag-Alaska led the orientation and meeting to set the stage for the new partners for local agricultural development. The orientation was also participated by the extension directors of the partner State-Universites namely: Dir. Josie Y. Bas-ong, PhD. of Cagayan State University, Dir. Mila R. Andres, PhD. of Isabela State University, Dir. Maribel S. Bacena, PhD. of Nueva Vizcaya State University, and Dir. Fredisminda M. Dolohan, PhD. of Quirino State University represented by Ms. Marjorie Opiano. This expressed their support for the newly appointed MS and the management of ATI-RTC 02. They were also part of the evaluation and selection of MS and partner implementer of the Techno Gabay Program.

The Magsasaka Siyentista’s proposed agenda featured crucial discussions on the President’s report, plans, and reorganization of the Samahan ng Magsasaka Siyentista sa Lambak ng Cagayan, Inc. A pivotal moment arose during the election of new Federation officials, where Sangguniang Bayan Member Jomar D. Jarvinia of Cabatuan, Isabela was re-elected as regional Federation President.

President Jarvinia’s appointment signifies the continuation of the Department of Agriculture’s effort to provide farmers with needed skills and information on innovative technologies. The commitment of these Magsasaka Siyentista to sustainable agriculture practices promises a brighter and more productive future for the local farming communities.
