With the purpose of boosting client engagement, communication, and information exchange, ATI-RTC 02 held a training for Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center staff from April 3-5, 2024.

The program, dubbed "Accelerating Communication and Engagement through Knowledge Products Development and Digital Know-how for FITS Staff Training," is a major step toward upgrading agricultural extension services. Recognizing the changing landscape of information distribution and the growing reliance on digital platforms, FITS Center is committed to using technology to optimize its effect and reach.

Moreover, the initiative places a strong emphasis on digital literacy and proficiency, equipping FITS Center staff with the skills needed to navigate and utilize digital tools effectively. Training sessions cover a wide range of topics, including the Techno-based IEC Materials and Development, Fundamentals of layout and design (Canva and Cupcat), Agri Apps and ICT Tools, Documentation and Report Writing, Social Media Management, and FITS Center Management.

"Digital literacy is no longer a luxury; it's a necessity. By empowering our staff with the knowledge and skills needed to harness digital technologies, we can enhance our capacity to deliver timely and relevant information to farmers," said Dr. Claris Marayag-Alaska, OIC-Center Director of ATI-RTC 02.

In addition to boosting internal communication and training, the program intends to increase contact with farmers and agricultural stakeholders using innovative digital platforms. FITS Center staff are encouraged to use social media, mobile apps, and other digital platforms to convey information, share knowledge, and build community participation.

As FITS Centers embrace digital innovation and invest in staff training, it stays committed to its objective of providing farmers with the knowledge and resources they need to prosper in a fast changing environment.
