Learning Site for Agriculture owners and cooperators met with extension partners in the region for future collaborations and partnerships during their semestral meeting and technology updates conducted last June 29, 2023 at Caranguian Integrated Farm, Brgy. Baculud, Iguig, Cagayan.
The activity served as an avenue to assess the status of Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSAs) in the region, provide them updates in the current technologies in agriculture and establish linkage with other partner agencies on their project and activities.
ATI-RTC 02 led by Dir. Imelda M. Guillermo together with different Section Chief facilitated the activity. Likewise, ATI National Director Engr. Remelyn R. Recoter, MNSA, CESO III, joined the said activity through online and delivered her message of support.
Among the agencies who presented their programs and services include the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Tourism (DOT), DA-RFO2, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), National Tobacco Authority (NTA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 2, Cagayan Valley Agriculture and Aquatic Resources Research and Development (CVAARRD), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) to share their programs and services that the LSAs may avail to improve their farming situations in their farm sites. Most of the LSA Cooperators expressed their interest in various programs offered by the partner-agencies.
Furthermore, the learning site cooperators shared their best practices on their farm. They also expressed some of their issues and concerns that needs to be address for the improvement of their implementations.
