"Complementation, not competition," Center Director Imelda M. Guillermo emphasized the importance of complementation as a strategy in the implementation of agricultural programs in the region during the Consultation Meeting for the Operationalization of ATI-RTC 02 2023 Plan and Crafting of 2024 Indicative Plan held on February 8, 2023 at ATI-RTC 02, Malasin, San Mateo, Isabela.
The meeting was attended by the focal persons and representatives of the different banner programs and service units of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 02 led by Dr. Marvin B. Luis, Assistant Division Chief of the Field Operations Division and Regional Rice Program Focal Person. Representatives from the National Meat Inspection Service Region 02 and PhilRice Isabela also participated in the activity.
"We need to harmonize our activities to avoid duplication and we can maximize our resources so that many will benefit from it," CD Guillermo said.
As an output, the group was able to identify areas for collaboration and strategies to effectively implement the 2023 plan. Moreover, the participants provided inputs for the 2024 indicative plan based on the technology and information needs of the agri-fishery sector in the region anchored on the Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunlad na Ekonomiya of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr.
