The utilization of alternative feeds for livestock production is becoming popular. As part of our effort to ensure that the formulation will meet the requirement of the farm animals, the ATI-RTC 02 conducted a training on Feednovation using alternative feedstuff on February 8-10, 2023.

The training aims to equip the participants with concepts, basic principles and practices on alternative methods of feedstuff propagation, feed production, and processing. It was attended by 23 farmer-leaders and Learning Site for Agriculture cooperators who are engaged in livestock and poultry raising.

Alternative feed formulation and production technology such as azolla production, hydroponic fodder, ethno-veterinary aquaponics, silage and supplements formulation, and forage production were introduced to them.

The Department of Agriculture through the National Livestock Program and Agricultural Training Institute is promoting the use of alternative feedstuff to reduce the cost of livestock raising and meet their basic nutrient requirement.
