Continuing the move for digital development in agriculture, ATI-RTC 02 trained a new set of trainers in the Training of Trainers on Digital Agriculture Course under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund. The training was conducted at the Food and Technology building, ATI-RTC 02, Malasin, San Mateo, Isabela on April 1-5, 2024.

The TOT on Digital Agriculture Course is a course under the RCEF-Rice Extension Services Program which aims to capacitate and prepare LSA-farm schools to implement a digital literacy training for farmers in their communities.

This was the second batch to be conducted this year which capacitated the participants on the use of smartphones, accessing the internet, and using various web-based ICT tools and agriculture-based applications. Also, they experience creating social media content and posters to promote agri-products and maximizing the use of e-Commerce.

Also, the participants focused on recording their microteaching and finishing their e-learning courses. They also planned their re-entry plans during the training to share the learnings that they acquired. They will take action within the next six months.

During the closing program, participants shared their unforgettable experiences and learning in the training. Jonabel N. Olonan, one of the participants, highlighted the possible impact of the program to the farmers.

Also, Rachel Ann Livid expressed her excitement to share the Digital Agriculture Course to farmers in their area.

“Bilang first time ko pong mag-attend ng training, masaya pala na umattend sa ganitong training.

In the near future, more farmers are expected to be equipped with digital agriculture and other ICT tools through the DAC trainers.
