Mexico, Pampanga FITS Center is now ready to serve its municipality

The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL), in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist-Pampanga and Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), launched the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in Mexico, Pampanga on March 28, 2023.

Through the provision of Information Communications Technology (ICT) equipment and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, the FITS Center has opened its doors to the farmers in Mexico.

β€œMaganda itong facility na ito. Mas marami ka ring matutunan kung pupunta ka dito [FITS Center]. Tataas din yun ani mo kung susundin mo ang mga technology na matututunan mo,” shared Noy Bartolome, a farmer leader from San Patrio, Mexico, Pampanga.

Present during the event were Municipal Information Officer of Mexico, Mr. Nataniel Dax Martin Bondoc; Municipal Agriculturist of Mexico, Mr. Lauly M. Pineda; and ATI-RTC III Information Officer III, Mr. Aeron P. Bermudez.

More than 10 farmer leaders participated in the opening of this facility and were excited to learn from the available communication resources given by the Center. The said FITS Center is also expected to appoint a Magsasaka Siyentista within six months.

The FITS Center, together with Magsasaka Siyentista, IEC materials, and ICT equipment, are components of the Techno Gabay Program (TGP), an extension modality that aims to bring science and technology-based information to the farmers and fishers. (Rocel Dyan Silva)
