The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon spearheaded the Training on Free-Range Chicken (FRC) Production among agricultural extension workers (AEWs) in Tingtano Integrated Farm School Inc., San Jose, Tarlac on June 28-30, 2023.
Mr. Robert T. Soberano, one of the participants, said that the training gave him the confidence in answering inquiries of the farmers especially on animal disease prevention.
โMalaking tulong po itong training sa mga katulad naming technician/AEW na mahirap at sumasagot sa mga farmers ng kanilang inquiry. Hindi man po kami veterinarian at hindi rin po kami ganoong maalam lalo na kapag disease management prevention ang pag-uusapan but through this training at least we are now confident enough na tulungan sila sa kanilang production,โ Soberano quipped.
The training tackled the prospects of free-range chicken industry in the Philippines as well as FRC technologies and practices. In addition, the participants learned the different breeds of FRC and feeds and feeding nutrition of poultry. The diseases of poultry and their prevention and control was also articulated in the said activity.
