Pilar, Bohol – March 13, 2025 – The Municipality of Pilar successfully held a technical briefing on vegetable production and seed banking for heirloom harvest as part of its PILAR DAM program. The event, attended by members of 199 Small Landcare Groups (SLGs), focused on sustainable farming practices and the importance of heirloom seed preservation.

Led by Barangay Farmer Technicians (BaFTechs), the session aimed to enhance knowledge in vegetable production, crop rotation, soil health, and seed banking techniques. Mr. Emmanuel Gamonez of Green Garden of Hope guided participants on how to store and preserve heirloom seeds for future planting, ensuring food security and sustainability.

The PILAR DAM program continues to promote community-driven agricultural development, empowering local farmers to create resilient and self-sustaining gardens.

Facilitating the activity is Ms. Hazeel May B. Roche, Agriculturist I and Noreen Angeleen S. Darunday, Technical Support Staff of the Information Services (IS) of ATI in Central Visayas.
