DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- Agricultural Training Institute-Central Visayas (ATI-CV) implemented the Refresher Course for AEWs cum Resource Person Development Course on Rice Production Technology at Southview Hotel, Banilad, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on September 19-23, 2022.

The five-day activity aimed to: (1) Demonstrate the qualities of a good presenter; (2) Perform presentation skills; (3) Discuss and explain the topic being assigned as a resource person; (4) Deliver briefly effective services as a speaker: and (5) Prepare extension action plans on the delivery of different topics assigned.

Magpasalamat pud ko kay ako ang gipadala diri sa training, wa ko nag expect na ing ani diay ang training, abi nako ug igo ra mi mo lingcod ug maminaw, kami man diay ang paminawun, ing-ani diay ning Resource Person Development Course. Pero pasalamat jud ko kay daghan ko ug nakat-unan ani na training, na develop ako self-confidence. Salamat sa ATI 7, sa mga Resource Speaker nato na daghan ko ug na learn gikan nila. Salamat jud kayo, ug sa amoa MA sa Loon. Salamat,” shared Ms. Aimee W. Cababria, participant from Anopog, Loon, Bohol. 

Mr. Rizaldy C. Mercadal, Agriculturist II from the ATI 7 discussed the Introduction to Rice Production Technology. Moreover, Ms. Rowena L. Castillo, Manager from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) spoke about Rice Crop Manager.

In addition, Mr. Felix John M. Refamonte, Instructor I from Northwest Samar State University-College of Agriculture and Technology explained the Pests and Diseases of Rice and its management.

A total of 24 farmers participated in the activity.
