REGIONWIDE -- Agricultural Training Institute-Central Visayas (ATI-CV) implemented the Training on Feed Formulation using Local Materials held at ATI-RTC VII, Training Complex, Cabawan District, Tagbilaran City, Bohol on September 20-22, 2022.

The three-day training aimed to: (1) Enumerate various corn by-products for livestock and poultry feeds; (2) Develop skills in making Natural Farming inputs/concoctions; (3) Determine the various nutrients composition of common feed ingredients, feed texture/form; (4) Promote awareness in adapting organic farming technology to attain our endeavour for sustainable agriculture; (5) Undergo hands-on in actual feed formulation using various ingredients composition and proportion/customized feed ration; (6) Promote the ethnoveterinary medicine as a viable alternative for livestock and poultry therapeutics; and (7) Formulate a doable action plan. 

“Wala gyud masayang ang pag-ari nako kay dako gyud kaayo ni nga makatabang dili lang sa farmers sa among area, labi na gyud nako na into farming nasad ko paingon. Nindot kaayo ibalik dinhi sa ATI para sa lain pa nga trainings kay ok kaayo ang mga facilitators. Sa Resource Person ok kaayo ka well verse na kaayo sa topic labi na sa mga presentation. Sa participants ok kaayo, sa accommodation very good,” shared James Melvin C. Rodrigo, a participant from LGU-Daanbantayan, Cebu. 

Mr. Reyland P. Jabonillo, explained the Introduction to Feed Formulation, Forage Crops for Poultry and Livestock, Natural Farming System/Nutrient Composition of Common Feed, etc. Ingredients, Feed Texture/Form Composition of Common Feed Ingredients, Feed Texture/Form Composition of Common Feed Ingredients, Feed Texture/Form.  

“I am always thankful in attending this training because I gain knowledge and technique in feed formulation and proper management in livestock production. Facilitators are kind and approachable. Resource Person lots of experience ng ana-share sa amoa kung unsay mga maayo nga buhaton. More forward we cannot achieve the pillars of success without GOD in it. Participants are friendly and jamming. Accommodation Comfortable, clean, healthy and delicious food,” expressed Wella Jane B. Bucar, a participant from LGU-Bilar, Bohol. 

A total of 19 participants from across the region participated in the activity.
